Parsian Launches Iran's 1st. BTG for concrete pontoon docks Fully designed, modeled, and built in Parsian industrial complex, Iran's 1st Blended Truss-arm in Gangway, BTG, (Patent Pending) was launched in Rostami fishing harbour, Bushehr province, Persian Gulf. The conceptual model developed to eliminate the need for piling and/or truss-arms which are essential to control lateral displacement of floating docks. While the calculations show that the steel BTG is heavier and hence costlier, than either standard gangway or pair of truss-arms, it will be stronger and more cost-effective than a set of standard gangway + pair of truss-arms. The design provides the dock with an integrated steel structure (stainless steel or hot-galvanized) which functions as both access bridge and mooring system. |
